School Cafes Serve Locally Grown Blueberries in April!
In April, the farm fresh blueberries served at lunch were part of Fulton County’s School Nutrition Harvest of the Month Initiative. These locally grown blueberries came straight from a local family farm to our lunch plates. Because they were grown closer to home, it helped support our local farmers and took less fuel to get to our café. Not only are these locally grown blueberries good for the environment, but also, they are great for your body, being an excellent source of vitamin C and K! Plus, by supporting local farmers, we were not only promoting healthy eating habits but also strengthening our community ties.
